Andrew Rollinson
Andrew has a PhD in chemical reactor engineering from the University of Leeds. He has worked for ten years in academia where he built and operated two full-scale gasifiers, set up his own commercial consultancy, and has been an expert witness on numerous gasification and pyrolysis permit applications. Andrew first began assisting UKWIN in 2014 and has since become increasingly involved with the wider GAIA network. In recent years this has been largely advising on chemical recycling. Having a legal background, Andrew is GAIA’s representative on numerous Basel Convention working groups. Ironically, the author of a book on how to succeed with gasification, he spends a lot of time now explaining why the technology cannot work with plastic waste.
