Making Waste Work. The South African Wastepickers’ Association’s Success Stories
Africa - Waste workers and waste pickers -The South African Waste Pickers’ Association (SAWPA) was formed in 2009 following groundWork’s visits to various waste dumps and towns. The aim of the visits was to map out all the waste dumps in South Africa and to further engage with waste reclaimers or pickers about securing their livelihoods.
