1. The KZWMN will provide you with souvenir drinking cups
that you can carry all the time during the conference period,
so you do not need to use disposable cups or PET bottles.
Cold water machines are conveniently located at the Hoam
Faculty House for your drinking needs.
2. Also consider bringing
a drinking bottle or other reusable container for water
refill to avoid buying bottled water or other beverages
in disposable containers.
3. Please bring your pen
and notepad. If you need a writing paper, we will provide
you with recycled ones.
B. Wastes segregation boxes
1. There will be waste segregation boxes on the first and
second floors for papers, cans and bottles, and wastes.
So, please put you discards in the proper boxes for recycling.
Since containers will be located in the main meeting areas
and not in the bedrooms, please bring your discards for
recycling to the meeting with you.
C. Shopping bag
To prevent the use of plastic
bags, we strongly advise you to bring your shopping bag,
which will be also useful when you go out for a city tour,
too.
D. Linens and Toiletries
As a resource-saving measure, bed sheets and towels will
not be replaced unless requested. If you like to have your
bed sheets/towels changed, kindly put up a notice on the
door of your room. Also, soap and shampoo will not be replaced
without a special request. We encourage participants to
bring your own toiletries and avoid using the disposables.
E. Other things to consider
1. To minimize food scraps/leftovers,
please only take what you can eat and empty your plate.
2. When eating in hawker
stalls and other vendors, please patronize shops that serve
foods and drinks in reusable or recyclable containers.
3. Refrain from bringing
toxic and problematic materials such as PVC and polystyrene
products, as well as personal care products containing hazardous
chemicals such as some insect sprays.
4. Plan on taking home everything
that you brought with you, including products such as batteries
and toiletries containers.
5. Please refrain from bringing
disposal batteries with you. We encourage you to use rechargeable
ones.
6. We ask you to refrain
from wearing perfumes or scented personal care products
to workshops so people with environmental illness (or multiple
chemical sensitivity) can minimize their exposure to harmful
substances.
