Poisonous Cosmetics

Our member from Nepal, Center for Public Health and Environmental Development [CEPHED], recently published a study called “Poisonous Cosmetics” that looks at the lead [Pb] and mercury [Hg] contents of 8 different brands of lipstick and 7 different brands of skin whitening and moisturizing creams sold in markets in Kathmandu. This study aims to inform consumers about the health impacts of contaminated cosmetic products and to call the attention of the government and the producers of the things that they should do.
