ANNOUNCEMENTS

GAIA Incineration Database

GAIA is compiling a database of all incinerators, which will help all of us better assess the status of the industry and its migration over time as well as to identify regions where we need to focus efforts.

PLEASE take a moment to fill out a FORM available at the GAIA website to enter information on every incinerator: existing or proposed, which you know of.

Please remember, that your information may help other communities affected by waste incineration!

GAIA Global Meeting 2003
17-21 March 2003
Penang, Malaysia
Hosted by the
Consumers’ Association of Penang and
SAM/Friends of the Earth-Malaysia

We are honored to invite you to the Second Global Meeting of the Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives/Global Anti-Incinerator Alliance (GAIA), which will be held next year in the island of Penang, northern Malaysia from 17 to 21 March. Penang’s rich heritage is breathing and pulsating – in her colorful streets, multi-cultural traditions and festivals, hawkers’ foods, tropical fruits and in her vibrant civil society – and we hope that all GAIA members can make it to the famed island for our auspicious biennial conference. With this announcement, we ask everyone to start thinking about what you want the Meeting to tackle and accomplish. We request all to assist in developing the Meeting theme as well as its daily agenda and program. Most important, we urge you to start planning now for your trip and your travel requirements.
